Built in 1923 the Bedwas Workmen's Hall through the funding of local miners and a grant from the local mine owner has served the needs of the local community for over eighty years.



Big Pit: National Coal Museum

With facilities to educate and entertain all ages, Big Pit is an exciting and informative day out. Enjoy a multi-media tour of a modern coal mine with a virtual miner in the Mining Galleries, exhibitions in the Pithead Baths and Historic colliery buildings. All this AND the world-famous Underground Tour. Go 300 feet underground with a real miner and see what life was like for the thousands of men who worked at the coal face.


Blackwood Miners' Institute

Blackwood Miners' Institute is located in the South East Valleys of Wales. It presents a variety of arts & entertainment events including well-known household names from the world of music and light entertainment plus high quality theatre, dance and opera.




Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall

Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall comprises a 250 capacity auditorium with a stage and licensed bar, a childcare room, a dance studio, a training suite with 10 PCs, offices and various general-purpose rooms.
