John was born in Abertillery in 1927 and attended Queen Street School before moving on to West Mon School in Pontypool.

He qualified as a vet after studying at the Royal Veterinary College in London and finally settled as a practicing vet in Newport.

Following his retirement, John took up painting, and is proud to state that some of his paintings now grace the walls of homes in Canada, Brazil, Greece, Cyprus, England and of course Wales.

John’s latest work will be on show at The Metropole Cultural and Conference Centre throughout October.
