WAGSTAFF's

WAGSTAFF's

WAGSTAFF's is a new exhibition of work by contemporary artists shown alongside historical artefacts. It takes as its point of departure a piano and musical instrument dealership of the same name that occupied the current MOSTYN building for over three decades in the years prior to its reinstatement as an art gallery in the 1970s.
WAGSTAFF’S considers the long-standing connection between music and art, and records an interpretation from today’s perspective.

Dances, Fountains and Gothic Tales - an audiovisual performance of Maurice Ravel’s piano music by Tristian Evans

There will be a live audio-visual performance of piano music at MOSTYN in Llandudno on the evening of Saturday 17th June, to accompany the gallery's current ‘WAGSTAFF’S’ exhibition.

Pianist and music researcher Tristian Evans will be performing ‘Dances, Fountains and Gothic Tales’ which combines Maurice Ravel’s piano music with projected still and moving images taken from the themes which inspired the composer. The themes include dance forms, the fountains of Versailles, and French romantic and symbolist tales and poetry from the 19th century.
