Ever fallen in love with the most wonderful, beautiful person in the world and been unable to act upon it? Cyrano is the ultimate tale of unrequited love, our hero has everything: the courage of a lion, the heart of a poet and the nose of…well, an anteater. Believing Roxanne will reject his romantic advances on account of his looks, Cyrano is forced to live out his hopes of love through another, the handsome yet inarticulate Christian.
Edmond Rostond’s play Cyrano De Bergerac was a dramatic sensation when it was first performed on the French stage in 1897. Over a century later, Theatr na n’Og, in this specially commissioned version of the tale from Keiron Self, takes you back to a time of honour and chivalry.
