In this uproarious black comedy we witness a spectacular clash of personalities as four flabby executives from a Welsh spring water company’s middle-management team tackle a bit of male bonding on an outward bound team-building course.
Crawling and splashing their way through a very real lake, our four starving castaways emerge without so much as a bar of Kendal Mint Cake between them. Gordon is absolutely, completely coping with the loss of his rucksack, despite the fact that somewhere out there are some fish swimming around with his socks on - whilst the devout Roy sheds his clothes and his sanity along with his religion.
A graduate of the Ayckbourn academy of humour, Tim Firth has produced a wickedly observed thirty-something version of the Lord of the Flies - tilting our sympathies from port to starboard whilst producing gales of laughter and dramatic suspense. Watch out for waves if you’re in the front seats!
… the more sinister the play becomes, the funnier it gets… an absorbing and amusing evening’s entertainment, whilst also being a psycho-drama of considerable power Mail on Sunday.
