Balloon Bonanza! Magnificent balloons of all shapes and sizes will float over Blackwood in August when the popular Big Balloon Festival comes to town.

The event will take place at Blackwood Show Fields on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August and offers something for all the family, including spectacular mass balloon launches, colourful performances from a variety of street entertainers, live music and white knuckle rides on the funfair.

The highlight of the weekend is the nightglow and fireworks display, which takes place on the Sunday evening and attracts thousands of people who flock to the site to watch the impressive spectacle.

The Bedwellty Agricultural Show will also be held at the same site the day before the Big Balloon Festival on Saturday 23rd August. This historic event has been taking place for over 100 years and is renowned for it’s popular agricultural displays.
