The Garw Carnival and Rural Fair was reintroduced in 2007 after a 21 year absence. A huge success, attracting over 3000 people, it was a wonderful event featuring a stunning procession, stalls and live entertainment, set in the beautiful, picturesque Garw Valley, South Wales.
The 2008 carnival looks to be bigger and better, featuring 2 days of entertainment and a new music festival featuring the best talent from the Bridgend area.
Focussing on the theme of The Mabinogion, Welsh Myths and Legends, the Saturday features a procession at midday, followed by a wide mix of entertainment until 10.30pm, including a firework display, cheerleading displays, archery, arts and crafts stalls, face painting and much more. Performers include the Welsh Piping Society, New Testament Church Gospel Choir and legendary crowd pleasers Fat Barry’s Soul Band.
