My Land, My People, My Language

Patagonia – 150 years ago, in 1865, the clipper The Mimosa set sail from Liverpool for Patagonia. On board were a group of hopeful Welsh families, men, women and children, committed to setting up a Welsh community 7,000 miles away, in Patagonia, where they could speak their own language and live their lives without persecution. Against all odds, they succeeded, and there is still a Welsh speaking community in Patagonia today.

Triptych

Thousands of veterans’ minds are tormented by the things they witnessed and actions they performed in the line of duty. Loss of limb is visible; mental pain is not - and so is more easily dismissed. Many try to hide it because they feel ashamed and, as a consequence, their situation deteriorates. Their family suffers. Marital breakdown is common. Suicide rates are high.

Oklahoma!

As refreshing and thrilling as the day it was written, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! is the original feel-good musical.

Celebrating the vigour of America’s pioneering spirit with classic tunes and boot-stomping dances, we follow rugged cowboy Curly (Ashley Day) and the girl of his dreams, Laurey (Charlotte Wakefield), as they travel down love’s highway on an extremely bumpy surrey ride.

Featuring a live orchestra and overflowing with well known songs like I’m Just a Girl Who Cain’t Say No and the rousing title song, this brand new production from the award-winning producers of The King & I and Fiddler on the Roofbrings its audience romance, excitement and a score filled with sunshine.

With Belinda Lang as Aunt Eller and Gary Wilmot as Ali Hakim.

Music by RICHARD RODGERS
Book and Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II
Based on the play ´Green Grow the Lilacs´ By Lynn Riggs
